At SuperPenguin, we create an innovative digital therapeutic platform to empower individuals with speech differences. Our team is a unique blend of researchers, software engineers, speech-language therapists, and designers, many of whom have personal experiences with speech therapy, including our founder and CEO, Jordi Fernandez.
Jordi's journey with speech therapy, particularly in stammering, is the driving force behind our mission. His struggles and triumphs have shaped our philosophy of acceptance and advocacy, while understanding that everyone's needs are different. In therapy, Jordi developed habits that significantly improved his quality of life, but maintaining progress on his own was challenging. This personal experience inspired him to form a dedicated team to transform speech and language therapy through digital therapeutics.
SuperPenguin leverages our experiences and insights since 2021 to create the ultimate digital therapeutic solution that empowers families and clinicians. As a support system, a friend, and a personalised guide, SuperPenguin is here for anyone navigating the complexities of speech differences.
Our work is made possible by funding acquired through competitive grant programmes, such as InnovateUK and NIHR, as well as support from angel investors, some of whom also stammer. After the successful launch of our first app, BeneTalk, which aids adults who stammer, we turned our focus to supporting parents and caregivers of children who stammer. This led to the creation of SuperPenguin, aimed at becoming the gold standard for on-demand caregiver support.
SuperPenguin goes beyond managing speech differences; it's about transforming lives. By reducing waitlists and easing the burden on NHS services, we provide immediate, accessible support. We empower families to navigate the often challenging journey of speech and language therapy with confidence and hope.
